Welcome to the Somerset Valley Orchestra.
|
 |
The Somerset Valley Orchestra began in the fall of 1974 as a class in the Jointure for Community
Adult Education. Originally SVO had only 17 members; today it has grown to about 50. The orchestra is proud to
continue its affiliation with the Jointure. The orchestra's mission, from its beginning, has
been educational - its director is an instructor in the Jointure - while presenting concerts to the community No
auditions have ever been held. The orchestra members rely upon their own abilities and interests. Rehearsal
information: The Somerset Valley Orchestra rehearses on Thursday evenings, at 7:30 PM in the band
room of the Bridgewater Raritan High School. We have openings in all sections. We have a particular need for strings
and bass clef instruments. No auditions are required, and there is no age limit for membership

accessible to all people, including older adults and people with temporary or permanent disabilities, such as those with visual,
hearing, mobility, learning and other disabilities. To the fullest extent possible, the Orchestra will continue to do all

the Orchestra will continue to hold rehearsals and performances at facilities that offer adequate handicap parking places,
handicap-accessible rest rooms, wheel chair access and other accommodations for the disabled. We will also make our concert
programs available in large type print, and will seat those with impaired hearing or eyesight in the front row. It is the
policy of the Somerset Valley Orchestra to provide reasonable accommodations to any person with disabilities upon reasonable

be included in all press releases of the Orchestra and will also be printed in our brochures, programs and on our web site.
